I'd like to get some suggestions on this image re exposure, crop, etc. I've been asked to submit several images to a local restaurant and this one has me running in circles.

Hi SueB:
I like the photo for the following things:
1.- Composition
2.- Lightening
3.- Sharpness
4.- Watter detail
5.- Color
What I think it could make it better would be to try to clone the green rope and to blur the background (stairs and poles) as it calls for attention too. Maybe a nice frame would help too.
Thanks for sharing it!

SueB,

Those circles you're running in: what are they telling you might be an issue? I'm asking you to suggest what doubts you have.

What kind of restaurant?

Is the white in the bottom right too distracting.
Is it too much ladder and pier and reflection above the boat.
Is the background too dark.

I think its on of those things that I've looked at it so much I just can't SEE it anymore.

I feel like there is two different white balances. The one on the boat and the one on the back. I think you should level them out a little. Thats it. Other than that I like it.

SueB,

The impression that boat is being lowered on giant orange ropes, might be lessened if lower reflection were darkened a little. If that color were less similar to boat color and less bright than actual timbers, boat might be better presented. It's well shot, just has a suggestion of visual illusion easily moderated through PP.

The white LR is distracting, and could be experimentally darkened, contrast lowered. Is that something on dock?
