I took this one while waiting for my train..

Iso 100
f/18
1/50

I converted it to B&W mainly because there was some annoying flare on the tracks which I couldnt get rid of.. I do think the B&W adds atmosphere though..

Black and white works for this shot, lots of tonal range there -- though it is accenting your blown out clouds a bit. Are you able to bring those down?

Shot sort of looks tilted to me, sloping left to right. Not sure if it really is tilted or just looks that way because of the weight of the stuff on the left.

I don't tend to like it when people just reflexively write "Rule of thirds" but in this case I think your photo would benefit from a crop that would take the horizon out of the centre -- it could be cropping from the top or bottom, but either would improve the shot compositionally I think.

I agree that black and white works for this shot. I also really like the square format for this. You have a great disappearing point too!

However, I also feel the shot is leaning a bit. you can see it in the sign on the left side, and the line of the ground below the trees on the right. It appears to be leaning to the right just a little bit. Perhaps the sign was actually leaning over, but added to the sloping landscape it feels crooked.

I straightend and cropped it 2 different ways..
What do you think works better? I cant really decide^^

I can't decide either.

Do you have a flickr account? Can I gently suggest that if you do, you upload and then paste the HTML in? It is much easier to compare and critique when the image is visible in the post.

I like the timelessness of this image, however I think the sky is a weaker element than the tracks. If I were going to crop I would be taking the sky off down to just above the tree on the right. There are lots of interesting things to keep looking.

On a side note, this would be great to keep around for the count to 1000 game!

Thanks, and yes; I do have a flickr account..I just didnt want to upload 3 versions of the same photo...
I do see how its way easier to look at them that way though so I will do that next time^^

Right, the one photo only rule.

In my experience, if people post further versions to respond to critiques and comments, that is considered OK.
