Hey guys,

I've been asked to shoot a wedding in May, my first shoot ever. I can't wait :) The only problem I have now is my gear. You see, I purchased my Fuji in September of 2006, and love it! However I would like to upgrade sometime, maybe next year to a Canon/Nikon DSLR.

Now I was wondering, is there any chance of me purchasing a Canon Speedlight for my Fuji S9500? I went to the shops and asked some dude and he said not that he knows of. But I'm sure if I asked here and googled I'd have a better chance of finding something. I just think that it would be better to have that Canon flash, instead of buyying a Fuji flash, then when I upgrade, purchase a Canon flash. Seems like a waiste of money.

So that's my question. Is there an adapter somewhere that would let me use a Canon flash on my Fuji S9500?

Thanks,

- leighton

From DCRP Review (http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/fuji/finepix_s9000-review/):

You can use any flash with the camera, as long as the flash wasn't designed specifically for a certain camera. Since there's no TTL flash control on the S9000 you will need to manually set up your flash. The camera can sync as fast as 1/1000 sec with the flash. Another way to attach an external flash is to use the flash sync port on the front of the camera.

So, what about trying to find a flash by Sigma or Sunpak that isn't camera specific? Might not be an easy task, but that seems like a possible way to go? Sorry I don't have a better answer, but hopefully this is a start.
