Very nice series, Carlos, which shows the red crest and red rump very well. I know how difficult it is to get the position just right to capture all the features of woodpeckers - they move so quickly!

Great shots ,again difficult to photograph because of their jittery movements ? what part of the world are these birds native to?

Spectacular photos, as always.

It's called Great Spotted, but what's the size of this bird? I ask because it bears certain resemblance to our Downy Woodpecker, which is roughly the size of a Starling, if that big.
