Default Bontebok not looking at photographer

Camera: Canon
Model: Canon EOS 450D
ISO: 400
Exposure: 1/800 sec
Aperture: 5.6
Focal Length: 100mm
Flash Used: No

The Bontebok is not looking at me, should I have waited for it to look in my direction?

It would have helped if it did look in your direction.
Wonderful picture captured by you.

My take is different. To me, that the bontebok isn't looking at the camera makes you appear as merely an observer in the scene, and not a participant.

That we can see one of its eyes is enough for me.

Good work.
