Default helping with laundry

My question here is obvious - what to do about the hard shadows? I'm using an on camera flash. I think I had the flash exposure comp set to -1.

canon rebel xti
f 6.7
1/60 sec
iso 200
av exp -1.5
focal length: 24 mm

009

This is a continuation of another critique on my black cat that I started on this post. It's called "should I just spray paint him."

Thanks for any help you can give!

Cool shot, I would say the only thing that would take care of that shadow would be a Canon Speedlite. I just purchased the 430 EX II and it has made a HUGE difference!

Music to my ears. I want one of those sooooo bad. I get $50 a month for play money, so I think I'm going to buy one of these on February and just pay it off for the next 6 months. I hear they're super cool. I'd love to see some shots that you've taken with yours. I am new to photography, but love the gadgets.
