I love the snow all over the dog that is nice. I think it is a little dark though. I am guessing this is the one listed that the flash did not fire ? If not using the flash you may want to open your apeture some more or bump up your ISO, I know shutter speed would be too hard to change alot with the motion a dog makes constantly and in those conditions.
Cool shot though. Good luck and look forward to seeing more! |

This a classic case of the snow fooling the camera's meter into underexposing the image. The camera's meter strives to expose every scene to an average tone, not too dark, not too light. When it is sees a bright white snow scene it is too dumb to realize snow should be white and not average grey. To compensate for the camera's lack of brains you have to manually adjust the exposure to make it brighter.

It looks like you had fun in the snow - but give me the sun any day!
Next time you take shots of your best friend either use "Live view" and hold your camera low or else crouch down to take the shot - you sound able to do that. Always try to take shots of animals and children from their eye level except when you want a dramatic low or high level effect. AJ |
