Default The puppy

Camera: Canon EOS 40D
Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/20.0
Focal Length: 50 mm
ISO Speed: 800
Ok that info is out of the way. One of the area's I am trying to get into is pet photography. I know this isn't your traditional shot but I was going for a macro type shot on her face.
Question is of the lighting and weather there is not enough or ?? Also how about composition ?? Don't hold back tell me what you think.

A Boxer ! Nice choice of dog! I have a boxer that is a little darker than yours(reverse brindle) and she looks better with a lighter background. Perhaps you can try with a lighter background ? The picture is clear and boxers have great expressions you will be able to get some great shots of your puppy. Good luck and look forward to seeing more!

I like the idea behind the composition but i feel like im left wanting more....
It appears that the dog has such an expression on his/her face with the eyebrows kind squished up, ears perky, etc. and i feel like im not getting the whole "feeling"
As far as color and lighting, i think it looks really nice and sharp, colors look very natural to me, good job
