My bird.. cockatiel.

Here's a photo of my bird using my new 50mm lens. I'm pretty happy with the lighting and depth of field, but what do you think? Replies would be greatly appreciated I am only 14 years old and I want to improve as much as possible

The light on your bird's face and the catchlight in its eye is top notch. Very sharp, too.

I'm not sure about the cage, though. At times I think it gives a good context to the photo. At other times I think it's too busy and clutters the photo. Maybe others can chime in?

I would suggest cropping out the left side, just left of the bird's feet (and maybe off the top a bit if you need to keep your ration?). To me, that dark area is dead space that detracts from the colors in the rest of the photo.
