Shooting white birds in the sun isn't easy, especially when shooting into the sun.

To me, the background seems well-exposed while the bird seems under-exposed. If you can re-shoot, try spot metering on the bird. That would give you a good exposure on the bird, and the background would be brighter.

Alternatively, you could use a reflector to bounce some line back onto your bird. Or use a flash to light the bird.

Detail and action looks good. You're close!

hi chip, thank you for your advice, its a little bit hard to make the bird pose for me while i set thinks up but i can see what you mean, its probably a bit of luck to get him at the right time with the chips of wood flying through the air and capturing them.
i supose it would be fine with a person or scene

advice defiantely taken as i am still learning
