Default Does the foreground spoil this image?

I just got my new 50mm f1.8 lens and thought I'd take a few snaps of my sleeping cat on the bed.

Do you think that the foreground of this image has spoiled this photo? I liked it to start with but now can't make up my mind. Any other critiques welcome

Thanks in advance for all of your comments

it does for me.....mainly, because it has such bright areas...even though i am partial to tabbies, my eye just keep going back to that foreground.....

It almost frames the shot? Your depth of field makes it work for me.

It does for me also. Maybe you could darken the foreground in PPing

A little bit. Maybe if you crop a bit of it off, maybe about half of it. The DOF and the rest of the picture is great though

Default Just a little

If the main subject was not centered as much it might help guide the eye better. Now my eyes seem to wander around the cat, rather than the animal itself.

How did it look in color, I like the B&W processing.

I think there is just too much of it. Crop to eliminate about half or a bit more and I don't think it will be as distracting, but it will keep the framing effect. Love the DOF - it need a bit of foreground to work I think.

This is excellent. I don't find the foreground distracting at all. The foreground adds a lot to the picture, providing framing and and feeling that the cat is very comfortable

What a sweet kitty. I think the foreground adds to the dreamy look of the picture. I like it.

I like it, all of it!

I think the foreground does make it look framed.
