Default Robin taking flight

Hi, I took this picture of a Robin taking flight in my garden. I used a slightly longer shutter speed to get some movement but do you think I should edit some out?

Thanks for looking.

Camera: Nikon D90
Exposure: 0.04 sec (1/25)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 300 mm
ISO Speed: 1600
Exposure Bias: 0 EV

Matt, if you're talking about editing out some of the movement blur, I don't think that's possible. This photo is just too blurry in every way to make a great photo out of it. If the bird was in focus but the wings blurry, that would be a cool shot. But for me, the whole shot is just too burry. This is just my 2 cents worth, I'm a beginner so just take my opinion with a bag of salt.

I'm with Bekkie on both counts: you can't edit out the blur, and (for me) that's not the money shot. The money shot is getting the bird in mid-air. Still, it's nice that you're thinking along the lines of using shutter speed for motion blur. I just think you underestimated how fast a bird moves.

Yes but you also have to think about the blur of the body came from the whole birds movement of the wings. The wings move as well as the body when attempting flight. Therefore either you would need to speed up your shutter speed or get him right before he is about to take flight
