Default My dog running in the snow

High speed pass

This is my first time posting here so forgive me if I screw up the post. The picture is of my dog that I took while laying in the snow calling her. I am looking for critique of the picture in general, but mainly of the composition and thoughts on how to make it look cleaner. Its really hard to figure out manual setting when you got a dog flying out you so I was also wondering how everyone gets these manual setting set when I takes me forever to make the picture look good.A lot of the shots I want are gone by the time I get them set. So any who any comments would be great thank you.

I used my Canon Rebel XS with a uv filter iso 200 exposure 1/250 I don't know what the f-stop was sorry.

What a nice action shot of your dog.

About the only thing I would have done differently would be a tighter crop in order to get rid of the shadow that is running in the front. It will also bring out more detail in the dog.

I agree with wmbtaylor, crop to get rid of the shadow and the two poles.

Thanks every one for your comments I will try cropping it this afternoon and re-post it. I worry though about cropping out the poles that it may make the picture off center but we will see what it looks like. Thanks again

Welcome to DPS.
Maybe crop away to the back of the dog leaving more space in the front to show your dog is running in your direction.
Outstanding picture shared by you.
God Bless
Christo.

Here is the edited pick I think it does look a lot better now, but now I wish my dog was more in focus. Thanks again for the comments look forward to hearing any about this version

Cool shot! I wish the dog more in focus as well but that's the trick of action shots ;-)
