Great capture of the birds fishing together! While having the birds in the center shows us the whole scene it's a bit "too" centered. Following the rule of thirds would give the photo more impact. The birds appear to be flying to the right so more room on that side of the frame would lead ones eyes to where the birds are heading. Another consideration is to rotate the camera and shoot vertically possibly with the birds located on the bottom third.

Hi, Art -

Light and action are both great. Really good timing with this photo.

The best thing I can think of to improve the composition is if you could've gotten closer. That would've let you fill the frame with the 2 pelicans.

I suspect that getting closer wasn't an option - so you gotta do the best you can with the situation presented. If you can crop as suggested by abchip without losing too many pixels, that would help.

Very good photo.

Thanks Chip for your comments, you are right if I got closer then the waves might wet the camera
I will try with a crop
