Default Pet Deer

This shot was taken in Oak Glen at the local park where they have an animal reserv and these gorgeous deer are kept for viewing. It is sad seeing them caged but in this case made for an excelllent photo opp. I would love to know how the overall shot works, most of the lens blur is photoshoped to make it look like its a shallower depth of field then it was, I sho tthis through a chain link fence, is it noticable and how does the overall colors look because I did manipulate them a little in photoshop. Thanks for looking

I think you did a great job shooting through the fence.

The blur however, looks like it was photoshopped. You completely encircled the deer with the blur, instead of leaving a line across the photo in focus. If there wasn't anything on the same focal plane as the deer, it would work, but not in this shot.

I really like the colors of the leaves, but their vividness tends to draw your eye away from the deer.

The exposure and lighting look good, but it is just hard to get a good angle and clean background shooting in a pen like that. The mechanics of the shot are good, just the place it was shot, takes too much away.

Nice timing on this one, and through the fence which can be challenging enough. You got the fawn looking up at you at the perfect moment! His face is sharp and in focus. The only thing I see is the PS'ed Bokeh looks a bit unnatural, but otherwise the colors in the background are nice and not too overpowering.
