Default Mabal, a portrait

OK, trying to learn from my previous post. Got on the dogs level, cropped in nice and tight, made her the focus.

Is the lighting on the back of the neck too much? I'm limited in post-processing.

Exposure: 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture: f/5.6

The blown out edges are not that bad, although you did underexposed the dogs eyes.

Thanks Armando,

Like I said, my post processing abilities are limited. I only have the software that came with the camera. Being unemployed, I can't justify paying for Photoshop.
Other than exposure around the ears and eyes, was the composition ok?

1 million ways to skin a cat as they say, what is important is that you and or your client like the shot.

Try getting the dogs chest in the next shot.

good job

Never thought about the chest, too. I may have it. I cropped quite a bit. In looking at hee eyes, they are dark. Not as dark as my photo, but darker than yours. I do like what you did. She looks much friendlier that way.

You're a quick study. This looks much more like a portrait than the one when she was laying down.

The light on the back of the neck doesn't bother me.

Good work.

Thanks Chip. The funny part is it was more candid than having her lie down.
I did crop out her chest, but I don't think there was enough of it to add anything to the photo.

I like this shot. The one thing I would have done is remove the dog collar..it detracts a little. Being a 'shep' owner myself, I can say she's a beauty!!
