For a shot like this, in my opinion you would want to use Aperture priority mode (I haven't mastered full manual yet) and set the aperture to a small number. (notice that yours is on F5.6) Smaller number equals smaller depth of field and the background gets blurry or Bokeh.
I personally think you did a good job on the shot though if possible move around a bit so you don't have grass or other things running through the butterfly. Also, you cut off the antennae which isn't a big deal but it looks a little "off" to me. But hey, I am no expert these are just my opinions. You might also turn off auto-focus, the butterfly looks a little blurry to me but not too bad. |
