Adding your camera settings (exif) is very important in offering you a good critque. With that being said, do you have that information you could add for us?

Overall the image seems a little soft. The lighting is rather flat too, nothing seems to pop. I like to stick with the 4 x 3 format as well - this image seems to square and cropped to tightly.
If you can't get enough depth of field, try to focus on the eyes of one of the birds and let that one be sharp.

It may be soft due to the fact that it was a dark image to start with and I had to lighten it. It is still very dark but if I lightened the hightlights anymore I started to loose quality and detail.

Thank you so much for your imput, I see the copping issue now and great idea about focussing on the eyes of one subject, I just loved the composition and the shapes the birds were creating and how folorn they looked so I forgot all about "popage" lol.

You seem to have added the capabilities of your camera (8-1/something seconds, f/2.8-3.5) instead of the settings you used to take the photo.
