Default Jelly?!

I like this shot but im wondering what may have caused this to not be tack sharp. Im sure its given but i shot this through glass at an aquarium. My first thought is maybe the glass made it this way? This is also cropped a good amount to to remove another jellyfish. Ill post the other version of it as well at some point.

EXIF

ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/125
f/3.5
50mm 1.8

It might have to do with the slow shutter speed. 1/125 ssec is very slow for a moving object.

If i told you that i was using AF Servo and it was moving slowly would that change your thoughts on the shutter speed being the cause?

Here's another one that I shot. The shutter speed on this one is 1/80 and it seems much sharper than the previous.

There are just too many variables to know exactly why it is not as sharp as the other. Were you using a tripod? Were you facing the glass perfectly perpendicular on both shots? Were you the same distance from the glass and the 2 jellyfish? Was there a bit more camera shake on one shot than the other? Was the glass dirtier, etc. The list just goes on and on.
