need to figure out how to make my pics tack sharp

A couple of quiestions first. Do you use a tripod? Do you use a wired remote?

Both of those items will help along with learning proper panning techniques. You shot these at a fairly high shutter speed but even faster would be better. The eagles in the 2 pic are close enough together to shoot at a wider aperture which would have given you a faster shutter speed. Practice and experimentation will go a long way in improving the clarity of your images.

Thanks for the reply- Yes I did have a tripod - It so was cold my fingers could hardly push the the shutter button so a remote definite would have helped .

EXIF data please! Without it, there are pretty much an infinite number of reasons why these photos are slightly out of focus.
