Default Alex the Cat

Hello.. I'm new to DPS and I thought this would be a good way to get some honest critiquing of my pics. I am planning on starting a small pet photpgraphy biz soon. I just bought a Nikkor 35mm lens and I was practicing on one of my cats yesterday. Please any input would be appreciated.

Nikon d3100
exposure 1/100
aperture f1/8
focal length 35mm
ISO 1600
exposure bias 0 ev

No flash used.

funny I have a yellow tabby named Alex...
So your shot is a bit underexposed - that's my biggest issue with it. Composition and focus look fine.

+1 A little more light to the front, mainly the eyes would help a great deal. A little work in editing software would probably fix that right up.

The clipped ear doesn't bother me too much but for some reason, the clipped chin looks a bit uncomfortable.

Thank you for the comments! Yes zona5101, I tend to under expose my shots for some reason... need to work on that. Karen S- thank you I believe the clip on the chin isn't too appealing.
