Default ToadStool

I would like some help in regards to composition. I set this shot up, one day I found the mushroom and the next day I found the minature toad. He was very cooperative. The original shot was a wider angle. I have cropped it to this size, hoping to create better composition. Did it work? Thanks for all the help.

Camera GENERAL IMAGING CO. X5
Exposure 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture f/3.0
Focal Length 4.9 mm
ISO Speed 80

ToadStool

Cool picture. If only you could have found a fairy to sit under it.I might have cleaned off the toadstill just a bit, to get the distracting stuff out. Guess you couldn't make him smile, huh? LOL

Lucky you finding such a cooperative toad!
I like the composition, I think you did well to crop where you have.
However, you could've done with using a smaller aperture(larger f number) to increase the DOF a bit. As it is the toadstool is nice and sharp but the toad, not so much.

Thanks so much for the comments and critiques. The mushroom was a bit fragile and I didn't want to push my luck with it and end up breaking it. I cleaned it the best I could, but your right it is a bit messy and distracting. The toad isn't as focused as I would have liked. If I ever get a chance again I will keep that in mind about the aperture. Thanks again so much for the great comments. It means a lot to a rookie.
