Default Night Hawk

I took this image from my back patio on January 2, 2012 in the evening. It was about dinner time and I stepped out for a glass of wine before dinner. I saw the hawk fly in so I ran and grabbed my camera, lens, and doubler.

In post processing I tried to brighten the image a little bit without losing too much of the shadowy hawk feeling. Is the coloring on this one too muddy?

It might help for you to read the critique section rules and include more info. Thanks in advance for editing this post!

I really love this shot. What kind of hawk do you think it was?

TessaDunc, this is either a red tailed hawk or a cooper's hawk which are common in my area.
