I know, I know you get asked this all the time but does brokah and jellyfish work?
I took some decent shots of different jellyfish today and can't decide if the brokah works or if I should clone it out? It is actually reflections from the glass... these are itty bitty jellyfish, no bigger then a quarter. They use a magnifying glass so you can see them. It just does strange things to light. Its an easy fix, I can just clone the black on them. I am kind of liking the look though as it breaks up the black. I can't crop a whole lot due to the ISO I had to use!! ![]() Jelly Fish by praline3001, on Flickr Camera Canon EOS REBEL T3i Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60) Aperture f/4.0 Focal Length 27 mm ISO Speed 1600 Exposure Bias 0 EV Flash Off, Did not fire The only PP I did on the shot is run it through noise ninja on a low setting. Let me know if you think I should clone out the brokah or keep it. I have about 10 different types of jellyfish with this type of brokah. I won't bore you with all of them lol

I liked it too but I was going for that solid black background look that I have studied with jellyfish. I really liked the spaceship look ~ not Christmas lights hehe but these are kind of cool

If that's what you want from the picture, go for it, as complete black background adds a more foreboding mood to the picture, but I personally love the bokeh, its different and that's what good photos are.

Well the all black background was the original plan but after viewing these at home I was kind of liking the bokeh. I just wasn't sure if others would too or if they would find it too distracting.

Better without the bokeh and brighter jellyfish.

You know when I saw the first picture I thought NO.. why would you want to take them out. Then I see the one with the black background & admit the jellyfish shows up better without it. I like both pictures for different reasons. The solid black background highlights the beauty of the jellyfish better.
