Exclamation Cooling off Piggie style

Cooling Off Original

I'm semi new to this whole world of photography, been taking pictures as long as I can remember but I am not using a Canon EOS40D that my uncle left to me when he passed. I have NO clue how to adjust any settings therefore I shoot in the preset modes. This was shot in sports mode and I have no clue how to tell you the exposure and what not. in fact I have not clue what half of that means. Any tips on where I can find info is great! I am taking a class in february to learn all the ins and outs of this camera so I can use it to its full potential.

On to the picture give me any critiques you got I need tips and pointers on what I am doing and looking at here! Thanks!

I'm almost as new to this as you are, and you got a great shot! Getting the whole pig in the middle would have been nice instead of it being cut off at the legs.

Pretty good capture. This site is LOADED with great information. Head on over to the Tutorial section and read all you can on exposure and composition first. Then head to the ones that catch your fancy. Please do find the manual and give it a read.

I found it helpful to read a tutorial, then go out and shoot a few giving each shot thought as to why I'm taking it and what I'm trying to convey as well as the technical aspects. Review the shots, post here for critique (following the forum rules of course ) and learn from the feedback. It will take time and plenty of not so good shots, but it will come if you are determined and willing to learn from your mistakes. Best of luck.
