Default Angry Birds

I've read that cardinals are very territorial. This one hates the one in the mirror. No matter which car is parked at the end of our driveway, he will try to chase the "other" cardinal off. I set up the tripod with my new remote shutter control (Thanks, Santa). I then sat in the house for several hours waiting for the shot.(I drank coffee and read). I got a couple of ones I like, but both require some cropping. Here's the cropped shot. Would you crop differently? (Kinda hard to tell without seeing the original. I'd be happy to post original if that's okay.)

Camera Model: Canon EOS 60D
Shooting Date/Time 12/30/2011 11:37:54 AM
Shooting Mode Shutter-Priority AE
Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/200
Av( Aperture Value ) 7.1
Metering Mode: Evaluative Metering
Exposure Compensation: 0
ISO Speed : 200
Focal Length 70.0mm
Image Size 5184x3456
Image Quality RAW
Flash Off
White Balance Mode Auto

Thanks,

Lamar

Interesting shot. I'd consider a closer crop provided it doesn't get too pixelated.

Thanks for the feedback. I took a closer crop and did a bit more post processing for color. Here's a link to the flicker set. Another one I like is the Cardinal attacking the mirror is also in the set.

Wildlife

Thanks again,

Lamar

That one with him attacking his reflection is good- you can see his expression in his reflection. However, that's looks to be your crop limit on computers screens.

This was my first attempt to get a shot of him. If presented another chance (weather & time off), I plan on making another attempt with a long lens. The lesson learned for me was not starting with the right lens.

Thanks again for the feed back.
