Default Denver Zoo Falmingos

Hi all. I took this photo using the color accent setting on my Canon SX210. My problem is that the flamingos on the right hand side are too bright. I did some editing in picasa to try to fix it and this is what I ended up with. Do you think I was successful, and if not can you recommend something else that I might try to salvage the image? Thanks in advance for the replies.

The over exposed do not look good and it doesn't look like it is salvageable, except for cropping the over exposed birds out of the photograph.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. Was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me could help fix the overexposure, but I guess it's not possible. Thanks for the reply
