Default Small orange beaked white bird

I am absolutely a newbie at photography and am currently using a point-and-shoot camera (Canon A3300IS). I would like to know the merits and demerits of my shot. I am mentioning some EXIF data below :-
ISO-80;
ShutterSpeed-1/100;
Aperture-f/5.9;
Exposure-0.

Hi,
Some might argue against this but I think there is just too much empty space in the bottom half. Other than that its a nice capture.

shanku,

the composure of the shot is great, however it is a very distorted picture and it almost looks to me like it could be an oil painting. Try to make your shots more crisp by experimenting with your camera on a pet if you have one or by just going out and taking shots with your camera more often. the more you know your cameras functions and capabilities the better you will be at taking pictures. Also the details of taking the picture will just come naturally to you.

Smile If i'm not mistaken...

hi Shanku,

If i'm not mistaken... you used digital zoom on this one right? as much as possible refrain from using it :-) if you did, it usually ruins an otherwise great shot like this one IMO. the dark patch on the lower right, causes some minor distraction.
