Default Zoo Day

Went to the zoo last week for a walk around. Took this with my 70-300...should I've slowed my shutter or just changed len's? Was hoping that she'd be there when I got back with my 50...not. Still don't know enough about PP to really fix it other than autofix or I'm feeling lucky. Any and all Critique is appreciated. Thanks

Camera Canon EOS 60D
Exposure 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture f/4.0
Focal Length 70 mm
ISO Speed 1600
Exposure Bias 0 EV

My immediate thought is the ape would have worked better had it been positioned to the right of center and even zeroed in on the face for a close up. The more the eyes are captured, the better the connection with the viewer.

If you had your meter at 0, the shutter speed does not matter. A slower shutter speed with corresponding changes to apeture and ISO to 0 the meter would end up with the same exposure. It appears there was no harsh direct light so you could have bracketed your shots starting at 0 on the meter and then two more going more to the right each time and overexpose for a purpose. Do you have a "fill light" slider in your Pp software? Give that a shot. I'm sure others can give better options.

Thanks mtblklab...I wanted it more to the right also mainly because she's facing that way but the glare on the glass was just to much. Will try and get the eye's next time. Thanks for the input O.o

Thanks Hill Country Hack...it was a little dark except for the glare coming from my left. I have the Canon DPP,Picasa,Zoombrowser and Gimp. Trying to figure out which one is easier for a bonehead like me Only had my setup for a month now and it's my first But I'm learning and reading more all the time. I shoot in RAW & JPEG just in case I do learn how to PP...but like I said new to this whole thing...and loving it. Thanks again for the advise O.o
