Default Staying close to mama...

This was taken last week in Mexico...the lizards were enjoying the hot sunny weather as were the vacationers. One of the hardest things I find with photography is the light/dark on bright sunny days. Any tips?

Hi, and welcome to DPS.

Two suggestions: (1) try framing your photo so that you don't have such extreme lighting conditions. Maybe zoom in more, so that you have just the part of the photo that's in shadow? Doing this (or something similar in a different situation) should help give you a better exposure, too - the camera's meter should have an easier time picking the right exposure; and (2) post processing - did you do any? If you shoot in RAW and have decent post processing, you could likely lighten the shadows and darken the highlights quite a bit, which should help balance off the harsh lighting.

Also, giving us your EXIF info (what kind of camera, shutter speed, aperture, etc) can often times help give a better critique.

Good luck, and keep shooting.
