Default More Critique Please

Ok, so I do feel that I am getting better from all this critique I keep getting. Here is one of my favorite new pics I've taken of my dog (caught her at the perfect time). I would like to know what people's thoughts are on the composition of the picture? I feel like the color and lighting of the picture is pretty good, but if anyone thinks otherwise, I would like to know on that as well. Thanks.

Love it!

Can't help thinking a slightly faster shutter speed might have made it a tiny bit sharper, but it's a lovely moment captured well

The only thing hurting the composition of this image is the horizontal lines running through the dogs head. They are distracting and take away from the image. (i do realize this was a spontaneous shot and you didn't have time, but things like this are the difference between a good shot and a great shot.)

I think you did very well with : the exposure , positioning of the dog in the frame, waiting for an interesting pose, focus on the eye, shallow depth of field .

I also think a faster shutter speed would have been better. Don't be afraid of the iso. A little noise reduction in post will take care of any noise. Shutter speed is much more important.

Steve_S: Thank you for the tip. I am always scared of the ISO...I will try to just work at getting my shutterspeed faster so the picture is sharper. Thanks...that's probably the best tip I've gotten.

Just make shure you don't underexpose the shot and you will be fine.(expose a little to the right and bring it back in post) An underexposed shot will show alot more noise than a well exposed shot.
