Now and again you get caught between 2 stories, in this case the Heron and the Tree
I hope I have got both. So the question is does the composition work? Thanks Steve Exposure 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture f/5.6 Focal Length 300 mm ISO Speed 400 ![]() Heron and the Tangled Tree by SteveFizz, on Flickr |

Hi Steve
I'll just start by saying that I'm absolutely no expert... But sometimes Photography is just about what the viewer enjoys isn't it? And that can differ from one person to the next... And for me this works! I love the lines in the dead tree and that one particular branch the leads the eye right along to the heron. I also love the small burst of colour in the leaves at the bottom of the shot. I feel a bit patronising saying this to someone who clearly has more experience than me, but Well Done! Nikki |

I think the composition is excellent! The trunk on the left makes for some great framing and I agree with nikkimorgan86 that the branch the heron is on leads your eye straight to him! The tree tips at the bototm of the shot also help complete the framing. I also like that the heron is in the upper third of the frame.
Keep shooting!
