Here's the link to the critique sections rules/guidelines. They outline what should be included (or not) in your posts. Would you mind taking a peek at them and edit your post accordingly? Please and thank you!

I am far from experienced enough to give you a good critique, but I really like the shot! I feel the B&W and the composition is good.

I did read the rules... could you help me out? The only thing I think I missed is specific questions. I don't really have a specific question. I would just like to know if anyone sees anything they would change or do differently.

@DooSPX: Thank you for your input!

I like the photo initially, the blown out background doesn't really bother me. the onlything I don't like is on the top right over the cats head i think you should be able to see its back but it seems like it is being hit with direct sunlight causing it to turn to white. It seems kind of awkward not seeing the rest of the cats body. I think it would make it better if you made sure the cat was lit more evenly.

The expression is terrific! But the blown out areas really do bother me, as it puts the cat in a floating no man's land which is weird. Would prefer to have seen whatever texture was surrounding him, even if it was light. Sometimes, sunlight can be deadly! If you see those "highlight blinkers" go off in your monitor, try stopping down and at least regaining a bit of texture.. it is easier to lighten up the dark areas if need be... but you'll never recover blow outs.

Ah, see that was intentional... but I guess not an appealing choice.

EDIT: See, now that I'm looking at it, you lose her white paw in the carpet...
