Pelican

I took this picture on a vacation trip to Puerto RIco!! Please feel free to comment or critique if needed!! I really love taking pictures and want to get better at it. Especially on the manual setting.

What a great take and the detail in your closest pelican is fantastic. While I'm not an expert, I have been told that when taking photographs of animals you should make sure that the eye is the main feature in perfect focus so a slightly higher and a little to the left might have made more of the birds face.
Also the background is too clear, and as such a bit distracting. By reducing the aperture (f-stop) to a smaller number (ie f4 or 5.6) you would make the background more blurred. This would also increase the speed to help make sure that the bird has no movement.
