Default First attempt with my Canon 100-400 L lens

I recently purchased a new Canon 100-400 lens for my Canon XSi. This is the first shot with it. I was happy with the clarity, for the most part, but wondered if it needed to be brightened a bit or sharpened some? I used manual exposure for the first time and hand held. Any comments?

Thanks for your help.

looks pretty sharp. could bump the exposure up a tad. try bracketing some shots and see what you like best.

This is a great start, sure you will learn to love your new lens! Going maual is great but I find I really like AV for wildlife to help me get the DOF yours looks good in this picture of course! Just saying so much to remember some times I let the camera think for it's self in some aspects.
