Default Cat don't weat shoes!!

This is a casual phot nothing too serious but I am always looking to improve. I loved this cats pose so I carefully got low slowly so I would not startle the cat. There was only window light from behind. How is the exposure? I really liked the way the cats fur glowed around the edges.

Camera Nikon D5000
Exposure 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture f/2.0
Focal Length 35 mm

Cute! The green thing is a little distracting ...

That is too cute! I like how his fur is 'glowing' around the edges too. Beautiful cat! =)
The exposure looks fine to me. I'd try turning up the contrast just a little though. I agree with crockny, the green thing to the right of him is distracting. You could try cropping most of that out.
I can edit your picture and post it here, so you can see what it would look like cropped in and contrasted-up. I wanted to ask you first if that would be all right with you. Some people don't like their images edited, so I wanted to ask. If you don't like how it looks, I'll delete it.

You might just try desaturating the ball, too, to help with the distraction.
