very new to the site, so here goes nothin..

very new to this so all suggestions are welcomed! i think i did a little much on the photoshop but was one of my first tries with it..i plan on keep shooting and upgrading my camera eventually!

That's pretty funny. It sure gave me a smile.

As to critique, I'd agree, a little heavy on the photoshop but a pretty solid first try. Might just be a bit heavy on the blacks.

A couple of other things that might help, the focus seems to be on the bowl rather than the bird so keep and eye on that in the future. I have found point and shoots to be a little harder to focus than DSLRs on these kind of shots so don't beat yourself up over it. Also, I try keep the horizontal lines (in this case where the blue meets the brown in the background) from cutting through or close to the focal point of shots. SInce the focal point is the bird, more specifically his head or even eye (viewers tend to look at eyes), try to keep those background lines from cutting through. A slight change in vantage point, up or down, would be an easy remedy.

Overall, I think you did well considering how difficult bird photography can be.

thansk for the advice karen! ive noticed it to be a little difficult to focus my camera sometimes..and ill keep in mind the horizontal lines interfering with the focal points for next time! thanks again!
