Default Cat operation

A bit more than a simple pet photo. I used the landscape option... accidentally.. but this came out pretty well, I like the angle and the lightning, I sharpened it a bit and gave it more colour, but you should know, that I didn't want to bother the operation and I had to work really fast. I used manual mode too but on those photos, the composition and the lightning* was really poor.

*kinda difficult with those medical lamps...

I would comment on the photo, but I can't, because I just can't get past this question: WHY did you want to take this picture?

Agreed 100%! Maybe for a veterinary book?

Also why is it in critique when no information given and no specific questions asked

ok, sorry if it's too much (it's for my 365 btw), she's perfectly alive, I was just curious how I could improve this shot, I didn't have a specific question. I should have post the exif data but there's nothing interesting in there. Sorry one more time, I'm really interesting in medical things and obviously, others see horror when I'm just excited, I forgot that for a moment.
Maybe moderators will remove the topic.

ok, I got it.
1/400, f/2, 50mm prime
during the "shooting", the harsh light was reaally annoying, what kind of setting would you have been using? I got overexposed pictures, this was the only 'good'.

If your metering of the white cat, your camera just might lie to you. I have a very light colored yellow lab and if he is in sunlight, I have to compensate to avoid burnt highlights. In Av or Tv mode, I take what my camera tells me and close things down a stop through the exposure compensation. In manual mode, I speed up the shutter setting by about a stop, lower the ISO a smidge, or close the aperture a stop to compensate. The amount depends on the situation and which I choose is determined by what I want to achieve.

As far as the subject matter, I think more context would help. I would not have known this was a surgery had you not mentioned it. Generally, I stay clear of clutter and extras, but here, I would try to include some to give context. Not many people see surgeries so they may not pick up on one or two small clues. They might understand the image better if they see say a doctor or nurse in scrubs, or a monitor of some kind, anything that non medical people could connect to and say, "Oh, that is a surgery." Maybe you could approach it in more of a photojournalistic style, including more of the story.

Interesting subject though.
