Default INCOMING! Tree swallow in flight

Taken during my 70-200 w/ 2x testing.

Nikon D3/70-200 VRII/2x TCIII @ 1/2000, ISO640, 140mm, f/8, Spot focus/ spot meter (dynamic 51pt), +5/3 ev, 30% crop.

Again, it suffers from a lack of IQ and not entirely from the cropping I think. Wing positions aren't the greatest and maybe a bit too much processing. But I just had to try.... Given it's flaws and the rather unique capture, does it still "work"?

Absolutely! That's definitely a unique shot, no doubt about it. I think it's great!

Default Yes, it 'works'...

The front-on facial expression seals it. Very attention grabbing. And I like the wing position be asymmetrical. Any one who has watched swallows knows they're all over the place when flying, so your pic kind of captures their flight pattern. I do see a bit of symmetry (a 120 degree triangular thing) with the bit of tail feather poking out below in relationship to the wings.

Nice shot!
