I think it's a pretty good start to panning as the technique can be a challenge to master. The key is getting the subject in perfect focus which can be tough with dogs as their heads and legs move all over as they run (as opposed to cars which don't have heads and legs.
)Anyway, outside of the sharp subject issue, about the only other things I could say to try differently is the framing and maybe point of view (angle). I'd shoot to get the entire body in the frame (avoid cutting toes and tails and all) and maybe kneel down or lay on the ground for a lower perspective. Just keep practicing and experimenting with your settings. (I'd probably lessen the ISO a bit just to avoid noise in dark spaces and widen the aperture but what you have worked so it wasn't wrong.) I've been trying to get good at this technique myself and I still have a ways to go for sure. One thing I have discovered though is to pick a very specific spot on the subject and keep the focal point on it, in this case maybe an ear or and eye or something. Pretty good start though, far better than my first attempts.
