I captured this guy on a recent trip to Florida. How is the composition? I didn't have much time to think about it but I've used what I've learnt here to crop it. Are the front mangrove roots distracting? And I think I've missed the eye focus, I have trouble knowing where it has actually focused when looking at the capture, the nose?
And my last question is how much do I need to sharpen the shot, I've had a couple of goes but think it's too sharp. That's another area I'm unsure of, never knowing how much to do, they all get to look too much to my untrained eye. I have Elements9 and also a couple of applications that I've downloaded to PSE9 that do it for me(always too much to me though) . ![]() EXIF Data- Camera Sony DSLR-A350 Exposure 0.017 sec (1/60) Aperture f/6.3 Focal Length 250 mm ISO Speed 200 It would have been shot on "P" mode (still learning then)

Well FKG, because of the time zones, it looks like me first again with my 2 cents worth (worth a little more than 2 cents NZ
}I think comp is nice and interesting and the image is nicely framed. Yeah, he's a little out of focus beyond his nose (to my bad eyes). If you can sharpen his eyes and face a little you'll have a really nice shot.

And I have taken some photos of Racoons and have found them to be quite hard to get in focus. I can be, say, four feet away, focus right on the eyes, set a fairly forgiving aperture, and still get fuzzy shots of them. I don't know what it is. Anyway, well done, again.

Thanks guys! Great advice as per usual. Now I'm off to learn about sharpening small areas.
