I love the photos, such a cute dog! You must be very talented to do this on your phone.
I'm new to this as well, so I don't really feel I could do you justice with any criticism but I would say personally I like the position of his paw better in the second photo. In the first one it is a bit too flush with his nose and it took me a minute to figure out that it was his foot and not something weird going on with his mouth (but that could just be me lol). In the first photo you can see the nice flash on his forehead better though. I actually liked the coloring of the second shot; it has quite a retro look which I find very appealing. But then I didn’t mind the screen either so what do I know... |

Thanks for the opinions guys! And Tito.... I wish you knew how! I'm going to purchase some software tonight and start trying to teach myself how to do all of those types of things. Right now I'm just using picassa and some other auto tools.

Sure, no problem. Two layers: one for the window and one for the dog.
Window: reduced exposure and applied Gaussian Blur. Dog: Increased exposure( just slightly), set black and white points with the Levels slider, Photo filter to get rid of the color cast, and a little sharpening with the High Pass Filter. I think that's all. I don't quite remember if I did something else-- I did it more than a week ago.
