Default Boring?

The birds lined up nicely and not bad reflections but is it lacking something?

Hi.

I think the water being quite dark is taking the emphasis away from the awesome shot of the birds.

This is a 2 minute cross process edit on my iPhone, but it's kind of what I'm getting at.

Don't worry, the description links to you, giving you full credit and it's private anyway.

It's a shame as they almost look like carbon copies and that rarely happens, but I think it does help make your photograph - well you said it - a little boring. Maybe if you give it a tighter square crop - closer to rear of top bird, a little of the bottom, and leave a little negative space in the front of them.

Thanks guys. Here's the edit. A tighter crop and lightened a little.........it does look better.

I like the picture as it is, but the darker colour (as already said!) of the water and the amount of water in the picture takes away the focus somewhat on the birds. However, after your edit, it is certainly a keeper.

I like the square crop, it really helped bring the focus back to the birds. Have you considered doingt his in black and white?

Here's the b/w version. I don't think it works as well as the colour one.
