Do you by chance know the camera settings (often called exif data)? That info would help a great deal in figuring some things out. If you can find it, just edit your post and add it in.
Even without that info, my guess is that your camera underexposed the scene. All white or bright scenes will do that. Most camera metering systems assume a scene is medium grey and a bright white scene like this throws it off big time. The end result is often an underexposed image, or a very grey one. If you have an exposure setting that allows you to dial in something called "Exposure Compensation", give that a try. I'm not so good at explaining technical things and I don't know what kind of camera you used, but at least you have a term to look for in the manual or to google. One other quick note on the shot, if you can, try to get lower, like on his eye level. For some reason, that seems to work best for doggie shots. I think it helps with eye contact. Your dog is pretty small so I'm thinkin' you might have to get down on your belly ![]() By the way, he is a cute little guy. He looks really soft.

I am pretty sure the T1i has exposure compensation, you just have to be in an exposure mode that allows it, like Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority. (It's not available in Manual mode because there, you would just adjust your settings to compensate.) Your cameras manual is probably the best place to start, along with making sure you understand how ISO, aperture, and shutter speed combine to make a proper exposure. (It's sometimes referred to as the 'exposure triangle'.)
