Default I missed his eye!

I shot this low flying gull and after a little exposure processing came with this result. Unfortunately, I missed his eye. Does it still work or does that spoil the shot? Your thoughts please or any other critiques welcome. Thanks.

Hmmm....I like the rear wing shape too and the water colouring but I'm not so sure it's a keeper without that eye. Hey seagulls are ten a penny you could do better!

Thanks smokingredmoon - the wings and background are what drew me to this shot.

Thanks FKG, yes the eyeless shot worries me a bit. I guess I'm not really chasing gulls to shoot as I got all I need for the time being, it just that while on vacation recently they were 20 a cent (Aus conversion) and I was shooting everything.

I like it. Shooting BIF is not the easiest thing to do, but the crop is good, the colors are great so keep it

Birds moving away are really hard to pull off. Head angle is almost everything in birds and this one misses it.

Check out birdphotographers.net and search "head angle."

Thanks Jim and Scott,

Well I guess not to expect an offer from National Geographic anytime soon then.
