Default Freddo in the back yard

Freddo in the backyard

discovered this frog sitting in the pot plant in the back yard .... was hard to get the light right , tried differant Focus from auto to manual . what is the best ??? as the lens was around 50 mm away from the subject perhaps a Macro lens ?

Details Canon EOS 500 D
Exposure 1/20
Aperture F 5.7
Iso 3200

Just curious, what mode do shoot in. I have T2i and mainly use AV I always try to keep my ISO low even though canon claims to handle it well I tend to stay lower then 800 at all times.Keeping it low will allow you to zoom in during PP and see the noise in the background. Perhaps you may have been able to try ot over expose a bit I am not sure. I carry a white piece of cloth that I use as a defuser on my onboard flash also if I feel I need to use.

It is a neat shot though as well as a great subject.

I am atotal ROOKie and learn by reading and asking for help it will be interesting to see what the others have to offer for help!

the camera was set to manual mode , one of the probs was it was night time and there were fluro lights , trying to turn the pot plant was creating movement of the frog ,

Well considering the circumstances you did great his nose and eye are very sharp. Kodo to you for going full manual . I stuggle with doing the entire job and choose to make the camera do some of the work for me at this point in time!

I like it, though the lighting could be better -- maybe that pot plant clouded your judgment ...
