I'd like to see a bit more sharpness. You've obviously got a fairly narrow DOF, which contributes to this, but even the in-focus parts of the picture seem just a bit soft.
I can also appreciate that it's pretty difficult to pose a millipede (not centipede, I believe), but it would be nice to get a shot where its head isn't quite so down-turned. It's possible that a more head-on shot would make the DOF effect seem a little more natural, too. I'm not sure what's meant by -5 for focal length, but it looks like you were shooting at the widest angle supported by your lens. It might be worth playing around with moving back just a bit and zooming in to get the same framing. I'm seeing sort of a fisheye effect here -- I'd be interested to see if a zoomed view from just a bit further away turns out any differently. |
