Default Bird on a perch. Please critique.

This is my first time post on here. I look forward to your comments on this shot.

This was shot with my Canon T2i and a Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 OS HSM lens right behind my house at sunset.

The image has been cropped and adjusted for additional colour warmth.

Thanks!

- Michal

Nice shot, his eye looks to be in focus as well as his body. Maybe just a tiny bit under exposed though. At first i was going to say the white balance but I see what time of the day you mentioned and that will cast a tone over everything he just looks a tiny bit dark. I am a TOTAL ROOKIE though so wait and see what others think. Thanks for sharing him with us!

Its a good pic. However, i feel that, you should crop it from down right corner and come closer to the bird. At present, the background is more than the bird. Since sunlight coming from right and bird is looking to right, its eye goes in the darker part of the pic. can you do something to bring some light on that part.

+1 on the comp, focus & exposure.

The only downside is the dark eye - no glint or even any detail. It does make a huge difference if you can see the eye.
