Hello. I'm pretty new to photography, so I have been pretty much taking pictures of everything trying to get the hang of it. I was over at a friends house trying to take pictures of their pets for them. The rain let up outside so I decided to go have a smoke. While I was out there I saw the dog in the window and casually took a picture of her without really thinking about it too much. But I think it turned out to be one of the better of the day but I'm pretty biased so what do you think?

I think it's a neat shot, something different. Focus looks good and he has a nice expression, kinda like he's waiting for the return of his master. There is a story there and I really like that.
The crop is a bit wide for me, but that's just me. I'd probably crop in a bit from the left and even more in form the right. It's not bad nor wrong thoguh. Maybe you were going for a panoramic view to add a bit more to the story? His white muzzle looks a bit blown (loss of detail) but that doesn't ruin the shot for me. I only mention it so you can work on that in the future. Overall, I like it and great eye to spot the story. And just a friendly note, your image is a bit wide for the forum layout. In my browser, some of your text is covered by the an ad and unreadable so I had to copy and paste your words into another program. I think 700px at the widest works well. Also, it's helpful to include the images EXIF data. (Shutter speed, Aperture, ISO, focal length ...)
