Default Lizard Macro

I joined the forum about 5 minutes ago.

You all seem very nice, so I am going to venture in with a photo I took yesterday. We are baby sitting grandkids.. Charlie is the pet lizard. He is about 4" long - not sure what species. But I kind of liked the menacing look of this photo. Side light is a heat lamp. He is "sunning" on a river rock.

Canon 30D
Sigma 105mm
f/9.0

Any comments or suggestions for improvement will be appreciated.

I like it very much! Might have been good to get the front arm in focus too ... Love that eye ...

I like it, but I'm curious what the shot would look like with some of the sun rock. Then again, the rock is very similar in color to the lizard, so it might not offer much to the composition.

Thanks Crockny.
At such a close distance - only a few inches - I don't think much more depth of field was possible. I had fun with this one because he was a "captive subject".

Hi PixelPeeps, that's a lovely photo of an adorable lizard. Might I ask what species he is?
